Through the BIG RAKE …

1.      SERVING UNCHURCHED PEOPLE THAT YOUR MEMBERS KNOW.   Challenge your members to submit names of widows, single moms, neighbors and family members who are struggling and are unchurched. Send those people who submitted the yard to be racked to that yard with some additional help. Then there is already a great relational connection with the person you are serving. When others come out and serve, free of charge, it makes a very positive impression on that person you are serving.

2.      FAMILIES WORKING TOGETHER. We had people of all ages, teens and families serving together. What kid doesn’t love to jump into a big pile of leaves? At the BIG RAKE they can do just that.

3.      GETTING OUT INTO YOUR COMMUNITY: It makes a big impact when church members are out in the community serving. The masses of people wearing “iserve” shirts. The yard that said “This yard was raked by the servants at The Lutheran Church of Webster Gardens” catches the eye. We want to be God’s hands and feet in our community, and when we serve together our community takes notice.
